Step-by-Step Guide How to Swap XMR to ADA

An XMR to ADA swap converts Monero into Cardano's native coin. You may need ADA for a Cardano payment, an application or a wallet you plan to delegate from later. The exchange funds that wallet; delegation is a separate choice after the ADA arrives.
Start at the XMR to ADA exchange page with your Cardano receiving address ready. The most important address check is that you are copying a payment address rather than a staking identifier.
Use a Cardano payment address
Open ADA in the receiving wallet and use its receive function. A modern mainnet Cardano payment address commonly begins with addr1. Staking addresses have a different purpose and are not substitutes for the wallet's payment address.
Do not use an address from a test network, a token contract or an unrelated wallet screen. If the destination is a custodial platform, open its native Cardano deposit page and follow its network and minimum-deposit requirements.
Cardano wallets can associate multiple payment addresses with one wallet. Copy the currently displayed receiving address, verify it after pasting and avoid manually modifying it. The wallet's ability to recognize an address matters more than whether it resembles one you used before.
An ADA swap does not automatically start staking
Receiving ADA gives you a wallet balance. Registering a staking key and choosing a stake pool are separate operations that the wallet can offer after receipt. They can involve a registration deposit and transaction fees.
The Cardano delegation documentation explains that process. Do not send ADA to a stranger's address because they claim it is required to activate staking, and do not expect the exchange itself to choose a pool or produce rewards for you.
If delegation is your next step, consider its wallet requirements when choosing your payout amount. A tiny incoming balance may not leave enough available for the operation you intended to perform.
How to exchange Monero for Cardano
- Choose XMR as the sending asset and ADA as the receiving asset on Swapuz. Confirm the native Cardano network for the payout.
- Enter the XMR amount and review the expected ADA receipt. Check the order minimum and the receiving platform's requirements.
- Paste the Cardano payment address from the receive screen. Compare its beginning and end with the original, and resolve any form warning before proceeding.
- Review the rate option and deposit conditions. Create the order, save its exchange ID and send the specified XMR amount to its Monero deposit address.
- Track the exchange, then confirm the ADA payout in the receiving wallet. Only after receipt should you start any separate payment, application or delegation transaction.
Use a synchronized Monero wallet with enough unlocked XMR to cover the deposit and its sending fee. The Swapuz exchange guide explains how to follow the order stages.
Read the ADA quote before sending XMR
Both assets have market prices, so the amount of ADA received per XMR changes. Compare the quoted net payout for the same input amount, rather than relying on an old conversion example.
With a floating rate, the receiving amount can change before conversion. A fixed quote, when offered, has a deposit window and other conditions. If you cannot send the XMR yet because it is locked, wait before creating a time-sensitive order.
The transaction fee in your Monero wallet is separate from the payout amount you see in the exchange quote. Any later Cardano action adds its own requirements. Avoid promising an exact net spending balance without accounting for what you intend to do next.
Common questions
Can I receive ADA at a staking address?
Use the wallet's ADA payment address from its receive screen. A staking identifier is for another function and should not be entered as the payout destination.
Will all received ADA immediately earn staking rewards?
The exchange does not enroll a new wallet in delegation. If your wallet already has a delegation setup, check its current behavior and reward timing. For a new setup, follow the wallet's delegation flow after receipt.
Why is my order still confirming?
The swap has to confirm the Monero deposit before it can complete. Cardano's network behavior alone does not determine the order duration. Use the status page, and contact Swapuz support with the exchange ID if needed.
Is ADA private after an XMR conversion?
Cardano is a public ledger. Monero's privacy does not carry over to the receiving chain, and AML/KYC checks may apply under the Swapuz Terms of Use.
