How to Swap XMR to LTC

An XMR to LTC swap converts Monero into Litecoin for a wallet balance, a payment or a transfer to a platform that accepts LTC. These assets use separate blockchains: changing a ticker in a wallet does not convert one into the other, and sending Monero to a Litecoin address will not perform an exchange.

Use the XMR to LTC exchange page to request a quote. The preparation that matters most is choosing an LTC receiving address that both your wallet and the payout service support.

Choose a compatible Litecoin receive address

Open Litecoin's receive screen in your wallet and generate or copy a mainnet receiving address. Wallets can offer different Litecoin address types. Use one accepted by the exchange form; do not manually alter its prefix or try to turn a rejected address into another format.

If your wallet offers MWEB, do not assume an exchange supports a direct payout to that address type. Unless support is explicitly confirmed, use a supported ordinary Litecoin receiving address. You can decide separately how to manage the LTC after it arrives.

The official Litecoin site provides network and wallet information. Obtain wallet software from verified sources, and keep the recovery backup separate from the address you use to receive the payout.

Plan around the recipient's requirements

For an exchange deposit, copy the current Litecoin deposit address and check the minimum amount. A wallet can show that a transaction exists before an exchange has credited the funds to your account. Those are two different checkpoints.

For a payment, find out whether the recipient expects an exact LTC amount and whether its invoice expires. Converting into your own wallet before creating the invoice can separate swap timing from the payment deadline, though the onward transfer carries its own fee.

On the Monero side, synchronize the wallet and check its unlocked balance. Keep enough XMR for the network fee so that the amount received by the swap order matches its instructions.

How to exchange Monero for Litecoin

  1. Select XMR as the sending coin and LTC as the receiving coin. Confirm the native networks shown for the order.
  2. Enter the XMR amount and review the expected Litecoin payout, minimum amount and available rate options.
  3. Paste the LTC receiving address and check it against the wallet's receive screen. Resolve any address warning before continuing.
  4. Create the order, save the exchange ID and send the required XMR amount to its Monero deposit address under the stated deposit conditions.
  5. Track confirmation, conversion and payout. Use the completed order's transaction details to check the incoming LTC in your wallet or receiving account.

The Swapuz exchange guide describes the order stages. Keep the exchange ID until the recipient confirms that the funds are usable.

Rate, fees and arrival time

The XMR to LTC rate reflects two moving asset prices. A floating quote can change before conversion. Where a fixed rate is available, read its deadline and exact-deposit requirements instead of assuming the quote remains valid indefinitely.

Compare the net LTC payout for the amount you actually intend to send. Your XMR wallet's network fee is part of your total cost, and a later Litecoin payment adds another transaction cost. For a small swap, those costs deserve more attention than a rounded headline rate.

The destination blockchain's confirmation speed does not determine the whole order's duration. Monero deposit confirmation, exchange processing, payout and the recipient's crediting policy all contribute. Use the current order estimate and check the status page before assuming a delay means a failure.

Common questions

Can I receive LTC into my Bitcoin wallet?

Only if that wallet also supports Litecoin and you have opened its Litecoin receive screen. A Bitcoin receiving address is not a substitute for a native LTC address.

Why does my Monero wallet show enough XMR but refuse to send?

The total and spendable balances can differ while recent funds or change remain locked. Check the wallet's synchronization and unlocked amount before creating another time-limited quote.

Does a Litecoin payout retain Monero's privacy?

An ordinary Litecoin transaction is public. Do not assume that the source asset makes the destination balance private, or that an exchange supports a particular Litecoin privacy feature.

What if my order needs attention?

Use Swapuz support and provide the exchange ID and relevant transaction details. Never send wallet recovery material. Orders are also subject to the Swapuz Terms of Use, including AML/KYC provisions.
